9th March 2008 – FRADLEY 10K

This run was used as a race in the preparations for the London Marathon.

It was the third time Owen had taken part in as many years. The beauty of the course is that it is flat and excellent for PB’s

At 11am the gun sounded and off went all 527 runners on 2 laps of Fradley village. It was a clear but cold and blustery day.

Owen said, ‘conditions were as good as could be expected but there was a tough headwind halfway round each lap which really zapped my energy’.

‘I knew I couldn’t beat last years time of 36:18 but was determined to get under 37 minutes’.

Owen managed to tuck in behind 2 runners on the second lap and hang in to finish 20th out of 527 in a time of 36:52.

Congratulations to clients Veronica Bailey, Caroline Lees and Julian Grindey who also completed the course.

Special thanks to Susan and Lauren Barber for the excellent photography.
