British Indoor Rowing Championships 2012
After 18 months of rowing, weight training and plenty of eating, finally the day had arrived to see what I was made of.
Nottingham University was the venue for the British and European Indoor Rowing Championships.
After a good 30 minutes warm up I was ready!
I attacked the first 500m hard, then settled down into a good rhythm for the middle 1000m. Finally I upped my stroke rate and smashed the last 500m finishing 10th overall in a new lifetime best of 6:27.1
It was another fantastic achievement and another insight into training for such a short explosive, anaerobic event. I managed to gain 35lbs in the 18 months through strength and conditioning myself with the right training and nutrition and gained very little fat.
